About us

Certified Medical Editing is the Taipei-based consulting company of Gus Adapon (http://cn.linkedin.com/in/gusadapon).

Gus is the former Business Intelligence Manager for GlaxoSmithKline China/Hong Kong (葛蘭素史克). He worked in the Commercial teams of GSK Taiwan and GSK China/HK since 2003 focused on special projects and corporate communications. He is also the founder of Forumosa.com, Taiwan’s largest online community for foreigners and English speakers. A graduate of New York University (紐約大學) with a BS in Information Systems, Gus completed his MBA with the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (芝加哥大學) in 2003.

Currently, Gus is deepening his own medical editing skills by attending the Medical Writing and Editing Program at the Graham School of the University of Chicago. The program is designed for those who wish to go beyond the grammar and spelling correction that is offered in Taiwan, and using techniques and tools like AMA style and the CONSORT statement.

Before joining GlaxoSmithKline in 2003, Gus set up MedBNG.com in 2000 and built the team into the outsourced medical editing team of GSK Taiwan while attending graduate school. Gus spent 7 years in the finance industry attending analyst conferences and making presentations in New York, Hong Kong and Taipei. He has worked for a diverse range of organizations, including Clemente Capital, Yuanta Core-Pacific Securities (元大京華證券), TAITRA (中華民國對外貿易發展協會營運執行), Hess Language School (何嘉仁文教機構), and The Princeton Review (普林斯頓留學考試).

After a successful career in corporate communications, Gus coaches and advises others how to achieve the same success. He is currently editor of the weekly Bulletin for the International Parish of the Catholic Diocese of Shanghai, and has provided angel funding for 3 projects in Taiwan: an arthouse film called Pinoy Sunday, an American cuisine restaurant called Yuma Southwestern Grill, and a nutriceutical MLM system called SinoOp.

In addition to Medical Editing in Taipei, Gus conducts corporate presentation workshops in Shanghai.
